The Lund Resort at Klah ah men

In 1895, Fred and Charles Thulin, originally from Sweden, built the first licensed hotel outside of Vancouver. The hotel was built on the permanent occupation site of Klah ah men, a thriving village used by the Tla’amin. Later called Lund, the area was re-named after a town in Sweden. The hotel was rebuilt in 1918 after a forest fire destroyed the original building. In 2016, a modern treaty saw the return of Klah ah men to its rightful place as Tla’amin titled property. The Nation refurbished the building and took over operations of the resort, creating a unique experience for guests.
